Comment on the one or both of the following questions in epistemology:

-Do we learn from experience through our senses, or do we learn from set a-priori truths that already exist and then we reason forward?

-Can human experience exist divorced completely from metaphysics?

  1. I personally believe that we learn through experience, and potential teaching of others. For example, no man would know what it was like to birth a child, regardless of how good the description is of the event. New technologies have changed that, and a few more (slightly judgemental) men understand the exact pain that women go through during child birth. They actually couldn't go all the way through a child birth, if I remember correctly.
